A safer online experience for kids
We work hard to keep YouTube Kids videos family-friendly and use a combination of automated filters created by our mechanical teams, human control and parental feedback to protect our youngest online users. However, no system is perfect and they can not pass inappropriate videos, so we are constantly working to improve our safeguards and offer more opportunities to help parents create the right experience for their families.

Adjust your child’s experience with Parental Controls
Limit time in front of a screen: Set a time limit for the amount of time your children can attend and help encourage their transition from observation to practice.
Continue with what they are watching: Just check the watch page again and you will always know what they have watched and the latest interests they are exploring.
Exclusion: Don’t like a video? Block the video or the entire channel and never watch it again.
Flagging: You can always warn us about inappropriate content by highlighting a video for review. Tagged videos are screened 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Create unique experiences as unique as your children
Create up to eight children’s profiles, each with its own viewing preferences, video suggestions, and settings. Choose from “Approved Content Only” function or select an age category that suits your child, “Preschool”, “Younger” or “Older”.

Select the “Only approved content” feature if you want to select videos, channels and / or collections that you have approved for your child to watch. In this mode, children will not be able to search for videos. The “Preschool” function is designed for children 4 years old and under the supervision of videos that promote creativity, pleasure, learning and exploration. The “Younger” feature allows children 5-7 to explore their interests in a wide variety of subjects, such as songs, cartoons and crafts. While the “Older” function gives children 8 and older the opportunity to search and explore additional content, such as popular music and video games for children.

YouTube Kids contains paid ads to offer the app for free. Your child can also watch commercial content videos from unpaid YouTube creators.
