Flat
Synfig supports many layers of different types. geometric, gradients, filters, distortions, transformations, fractals and a few more.

Bones
The complete bone system lets you create cutout animations using bitmap images or control your vector artwork. The Skeleton distortion layer allows complex distortions to be applied to bitmap artwork.

Spatial analysis-independence
Most elements are vector-based and all levels are generated parametrically, so even when you change the target resolution of a project, the only pixel will occur in the imported raster images, not the embedded elements.

Independence of time resolution
Basic animation frames are automatically inserted by the computer, resulting in a smooth motion

High Dynamic Range (HDRI)
Using floating point mathematics in image calculations, HDRI processing allows canvases to understand a much wider range of pixel brightness internally, resulting in better lighting effects and improved color composition.
