Scratch is a visual development code created by MIT to Teach coding to children and teens between 8 and 16 years old. It is designed to help children learn how to think creatively and work in groups.

It is as easy as it is fun to use, just ask the millions of people who use it all over the world, not only children but also adults, teachers and researchers, as it is very popular in the educational fields. With this software, you will be able to create presentations, stories, games, GIFs, cartoons…

How does it work;

The Scratch interface splits into several parts, although once created we create a new project. In the upper left, we will see the script or the space where we can move different objects. The main column contains the various blocks of code where we will find ten categories for different actionsmall. Each program (with a different color code) is associated with an object (character) or script, including the following:

• Motion: you can specify the position of an object as soon as you move it.
• Appearance: how the items are displayed during execution.
• Audio: add audio components that you want to apply to the development.
• Pencil: you can paint and draw on the screen with different thicknesses and textures.
• Events: you can send events and manage them to any character when you receive them.
• Sensors: used to record the interaction between objects.
• Operators: used for arithmetic calculations.
• More blocks: to create custom blocks.

On the right side, you will find a free canvas where you can place all the items according to the instructions and finally in the lower left corner, you will see the items which can modify the number of characters.
