Mozilla has long offered alternatives to Firefox’s fixed channel where they publish trials of their browser that will later be officially distributed. Firefox Developer Edition now replaces the Aurora channel to offer a browser update every six weeks, long before it is officially released on the standard channel, and is completed with unique web development features.

This release includes many tools for creating, editing, and testing projects on various devices and browsers, bringing all new features together in a drop-down menu in the toolbar. Other features include options to inspect the source code of the page and modify the HTML and CSS code directly from the browser while you see the changes in real time. It also has debugging and performance analytics features that allow you to, for example, check the network status of online applications or view a change log with each page interaction.

At a typical user level, the only difference is a darker visual theme and the included features mentioned above are not available on the fixed channel, making this version ideal for both developers and those who want to be aware of everything that happens with their favorite browser.
